Lead LIMS Developer (SAPIO/LabVantage & Java)

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of SAPIO LIMS and/or LabVantage solutions.
• Translate laboratory and business requirements into scalable workflows, integrations, and data models covering sample management, testing, results review, approvals, and exception handling.
• Architect integrations with laboratory instruments, healthcare systems, ELN, SDMS, CDS, and enterprise platforms.
• Develop and oversee REST APIs, microservices, custom configurations, business rules, and platform extensions.
• Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and drive performance optimization and root-cause analysis.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams while supporting technical governance and excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering or enterprise application development experience.
• Extensive hands-on Java experience with Spring and Spring Boot, plus Python development using Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
• Strong experience with SAPIO LIMS and/or LabVantage, including LIMS implementations, upgrades, or modernization programs.
• Expertise in REST APIs, microservices, backend architecture, system integrations, SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure, healthcare or life sciences environments, regulated SDLC practices, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, ALCOA+, and Computer System Validation.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAPIO LIMS and/or LabVantage across enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Additional cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Python development with Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
