Senior Analytics Data Engineer (dbt)

Location: Hybrid; on-site 3 days per week at an office in Bethesda, MD; Lakeland, FL; Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; Buffalo, NY; Melville, NY; Manhattan, NY; or Virginia Beach, VA.

Annual salary: $73,800–$141,450.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain datasets, extracts, reports, dashboards, and automated data delivery pipelines for operational reporting.
• Design scalable data models and data delivery solutions using modern architectures such as data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, and lakehouses.
• Build, test, optimize, and support ETL/ELT processes using dbt, Azure Data Factory, Airflow, or related technologies.
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries, perform root cause analysis, and tune pipeline and reporting performance.
• Support SAS migration, database migrations, testing, validation, deployment, and post-implementation support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, establish development standards, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience developing data pipelines with dbt, GitHub, Airflow, or similar technologies.
• Property and Casualty claims data or analytics experience, or experience in the P&C insurance industry.
• Strong SQL, analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and learn complex technical and procedural information.
• Must work on-site three days per week at one of the specified U.S. office locations.
