TL;DR
Data Engineer (Python/SQL): Building and maintaining data pipelines for a federal data analytics and business intelligence platform with an accent on ETL, data processing, and automation. Location: Dallas, TX or Austin, TX with remote/hybrid work options; US citizenship required
Salary: $112,597.33–$152,810.66 per year

What you will do
- Develop and maintain data pipelines that store, manage, and provision data to consumers.
- Build reliable data extraction and processing code for structured and unstructured sources.
- Support automation of data ingestion and implement ETL, testing, and validation processes.
- Apply API-first design, continuous integration, version control, and automated testing practices.
- Translate complex and evolving requirements into documented data strategies and analytic solutions.
- Collaborate with program management, engineers, product managers, UX specialists, and other cross-functional partners in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Requirements
- US citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- 7+ years of IT experience designing, managing, and solving for large, complex datasets and data models.
- Experience developing data pipelines from multiple structured and unstructured data sources and formats.
- Proficiency with ETL processes, data manipulation using Python, R, SQL, or SAS, and test and validation procedures.
- Knowledge of big data analysis and storage technologies, relational databases such as PostgreSQL, CI/CD pipelines, Agile principles, and Git-based version control.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and work across organizational levels.
Nice to have
- Experience creating and consuming APIs, with extensive Python experience receiving special consideration.
- Experience with DHS and DHS standards.
- Ability to create visualizations with Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience writing Shell scripts on Linux.
