Location: On-site in Idaho Falls, Idaho; must be based in the United States. Travel to Austin, Texas facilities as needed.

What you will do
- Lead environmental compliance, industrial safety, emergency management, and radiological-control personnel and programs.
- Establish ES&H requirements, responsibilities, performance standards, and field-implementation expectations for nuclear operations, construction, testing, and manufacturing.
- Ensure hazards are identified and controlled through integrated work planning, permits, procedures, pre-job briefs, field observations, and stop-work authority.
- Manage environmental permits, monitoring, reporting, waste-management interfaces, radiation-protection controls, dosimetry, surveys, and ALARA planning.
- Maintain emergency plans, drills, communications, response interfaces, and readiness across applicable facilities.
- Track performance indicators, manage corrective actions, assess field conditions, and escalate significant risks, noncompliance, and unresolved issues to nuclear operations leadership.
Requirements
- Must be based in the United States and willing to work on-site in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible ES&H experience in nuclear, chemical, energy, industrial construction, or another high-hazard environment.
- At least five years leading multiple ES&H disciplines or a comparably broad department at manager or director level.
- Knowledge of industrial safety, environmental compliance, emergency management, and radiation-protection interfaces for nuclear construction and operations.
- Experience with DOE- or NRC-regulated safety programs, integrated safety management, corrective action, assessment, and readiness processes.
- Ability to work in construction, industrial, radiological, and sodium-system environments, wear required PPE, and support emergency or critical work.
Nice to have
- Experience working with DOE, state and federal regulators, national laboratories, emergency-response organizations, or independent oversight.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, health physics, engineering, physical science, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CSP, CHP, CIH, or equivalent.
