Location: On-site in Austin, Texas; applicants must be based in the United States

Salary: Starting at $100,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the development, optimization, and qualification of manufacturing processes and production lines for modular nuclear reactors.
  • Provide technical guidance on process selection, producibility, risk mitigation, and design for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Lead the design, manufacture, and qualification of tooling, fixtures, and production equipment.
  • Drive root-cause investigations, corrective actions, continuous improvement, KPI analysis, cycle-time reduction, OEE, and first-pass yield improvements.
  • Create and govern work instructions, manufacturing procedures, build documentation, process FMEAs, first-article inspections, and production prove-outs.
  • Support factory layout, capacity planning, capital equipment decisions, and manufacturing readiness for new reactor designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing or process engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in welding, machining, forming, or assembly of complex metallic structures.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5; applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship and must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons compliant with 10 CFR Part 810.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ASME Section III, NQA-1, metrology, prototype-to-serial-production scaling, or automated production-line design.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with robotic welding, automated inspection, CAD/CAM, MES, or PLM tools.
  • ASME Y14.5 GD&T Technologist or Senior-level certification.
