Location: Santa Clara, California, or remote within the United States. Remote employees must travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter based on business or team needs, and must work onsite there during the first two weeks of onboarding. Only applicants meeting the definition of a U.S. person under applicable export control laws may be eligible.
Salary: $70,000β$1,500,000 per year

What you will do
- Develop licensing strategies and support technical engineering work for external hazards, including seismic, flooding, meteorological, and man-made hazards.
- Define scopes of work, review technical proposals and analyses, and oversee deliverables from internal teams, contractors, and constructors.
- Manage external-hazards analyses, regulatory submissions, licensing support, and related project management systems.
- Integrate hazard assessments into design-basis evaluations, probabilistic risk assessments, safety evaluations, and licensing deliverables.
- Track NRC regulations and guidance, assess their impact on compliance strategies, and maintain regulatory strategy documents and briefing materials.
- Coordinate responses to NRC requests for additional information and author technical reports, regulatory filings, presentations, and licensing documents.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience performing or evaluating external-hazards assessments.
- Bachelorβs, masterβs, or doctoral degree in civil, environmental, nuclear, or a related engineering field.
- Technical expertise in external hazards and their impact on facilities.
- Ability to perform risk-informed analysis, deterministic safety analysis, and hazard modeling.
- Familiarity with licensing processes, safety-case development, regulations, guidance documents, and regulatory submissions.
- Eligibility to work with information subject to U.S. export control laws may be required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Nuclear Regulatory Commission or Department of Energy requirements.
- Experience with the International Building Code.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as IBC and ASCE.
