Senior MOCVD Engineer (InP)

What you will do

• Schedule daily MOCVD operations, create recipes, monitor equipment and process status, and review material measurements against specifications.
• Maintain MOCVD and characterization equipment, manage raw material inventory, and support safe operation as a member of the Emergency Response Group.
• Set up SPC charts, monitor process and equipment changes, and create ISO-compliant MOCVD procedures and documentation.
• Coordinate with R&D, facilities, wafer fabrication, operators, and technicians while providing technical training and support.
• Lead failure analysis using DOE, Six Sigma, optical inspection, SEM, FIB, SIMS, and electrical analysis.
• Drive defect reduction, yield improvement, root-cause investigations, and corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, Photonics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience growing InP-based bulk or MQW materials using Aixtron or Veeco MOCVD tools.
• Hands-on experience sustaining and maintaining MOCVD tools.
• Knowledge of material characterization techniques and equipment, including PL, XRD, ECV, SEM, SIMS, Hall, TEM, and AFM.
• Familiarity with SPC, Gage, DOE, manufacturing, and data analysis, plus a strong understanding of optoelectronic device physics and wafer processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills for contamination, epitaxial defects, process fluctuations, equipment issues, and material issues.

• Experience with JMP.
