Customer Quality, Staff Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; onsite role with up to 10% domestic and international travel.

Expected base pay: $99,240–$148,600 per annum, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Lead customer quality engineering for IC or optics products within New Product Introduction and qualification programs.
• Assess reliability risks, execute qualification plans, and resolve product quality issues, RMAs, and customer requests.
• Act as the customer quality champion and manage customer requirements, communications, engagement activities, and executive reviews.
• Lead cross-functional 8D problem-solving activities and quality improvement programs focused on customer metrics, scorecards, and supplier quality ranking.
• Drive quality communications and dedicated initiatives such as Product Change Notices through closure.
• Integrate customer requirements into the Quality Management System, processes, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of professional experience; or a Master’s degree and/or PhD with 2+ years of experience.
• At least 2 years of semiconductor or optics industry experience.
• At least 1 year in a customer-facing technical quality engineering role.
• Working knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, packaging technologies, device physics, quality, and reliability.
• Experience with failure analysis, manufacturing, reliability qualification, and semiconductor- or optics-related issues.
• Excellent English verbal, written communication, and presentation skills are required.

• Technical knowledge of wafer processes, assembly processes, manufacturing, and reliability qualification.
• Technical knowledge of optics processes, assembly processes, manufacturing, and reliability qualification.
• Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and solving complex problems under tight timeframes.
