Associate Systems Engineer (Storage)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; Raleigh, North Carolina; or Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. Domestic overnight travel of 5–10% is required, with willingness to relocate upon promotion.

Annual base salary: $73,000–$128,000 USD. The role may also be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Validate product configurations and support customer pursuits and sales opportunities.
• Collect and analyze data for sales plays and customer lifecycle management programs.
• Assist with solution designs and lead simple storage solution designs.
• Support demonstrations, system configurations, feature adoption, and basic technical questions for prospects and customers.
• Contribute to account planning and technical account management across pre-sales and post-sales activities.
• Collaborate with Customer Support, Professional Services, Renewal, Integrated Operations, and Order Management.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of technology industry or equivalent experience.
• Strong customer interaction, phone, listening, written communication, and product presentation skills.
• Ability to collect data, identify problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and apply critical thinking.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and proactively, and demonstrate business and technical acumen.
• Willingness to travel domestically overnight 5–10% of the time and relocate upon promotion.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN.
• Knowledge of VMware, Windows, UNIX variants such as Linux and AIX, NFS file systems, and network environments.
• Salesforce.com experience.
