Systems Engineer (IT Infrastructure)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; hybrid schedule with three days per week onsite. Work Wednesday through Saturday in either two 8-hour and two 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts.

Salary: $40–$42 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide first-level infrastructure support and resolve incidents across enterprise server operating systems, hardware platforms, storage technologies, and related infrastructure.
• Perform incident triage and ticket management through a ServiceNow incident queue.
• Support service operator systems, storage, and distributed infrastructure from a hardware perspective.
• Provision and reconfigure Windows and Linux operating systems on physical and ESXi servers.
• Install and configure network interface cards, NetBackup clients, disks, groups, and other operating system components.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, document operational workflows, and present recommendations for low- to moderately complex infrastructure challenges.

Requirements

• At least two years of Systems Engineering experience or equivalent experience through work, consulting, training, military service, or education.
• Strong infrastructure operations and break-fix troubleshooting experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced incident management and ticket management environment.
• Experience supporting enterprise Windows Server, Unix/Linux, Red Hat Linux, VMware, storage, and backup infrastructure.
• Experience with ServiceNow incident queues and infrastructure hardware support.
• Ability to work onsite in Tempe three days per week on a Wednesday–Saturday schedule.

Nice to have

• PowerShell automation experience, including automating backup provisioning.
• Experience with AI or generative AI tools.
