IT Staff Storage Engineer (Storage Infrastructure)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; onsite/in-person

Salary: $57.21–$106.25 per hour, with potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Ensure the availability, reliability, scalability, manageability, capacity, and performance of storage environments.
• Gather data and storage requirements from technical and business stakeholders and design solutions to meet them.
• Provide Level 2/3 technical expertise and lead resolution of outages, service-level issues, bottlenecks, and customer support needs.
• Monitor, test, analyze performance data, and recommend improvements to storage infrastructure and security.
• Design, implement, and maintain storage and backup automation using scripting and orchestration tools.
• Architect and operate Rubrik backup platforms, including SLA Domains, immutable backups, replication, and cyber recovery for on-premises and cloud workloads.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Approximately 8 years of relevant IT experience, including extensive management of highly available, mission-critical storage infrastructures.
• At least 5 years of NetApp storage management experience and 2 years managing Pure Storage.
• In-depth knowledge of storage hardware, operating systems, corporate storage platforms, administration tools, and storage security practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal communication, teamwork, and systems analysis skills.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure 24/7/365 environment with strict deadlines; Unix/Linux and VMware administration proficiency is preferred.
