Technical Services Engineer II

Location: Boston, MA, United States

Salary: $100,000–$122,000 USD annually, plus a potential discretionary annual variable target incentive.

What you will do

• Maintain, monitor, and optimize private cloud, data center, compute, storage, connectivity, virtualization, and containerization platforms.
• Administer on-premises servers, storage fabrics, network devices, supporting systems, Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
• Manage backup platforms and proactively monitor system health, performance, availability, and service risks.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure incidents, document root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain security controls, complete compliance checks, fulfill ServiceNow requests, and support internal staff through the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with network teams and vendors, maintain technical documentation, mentor junior colleagues, automate tasks, and participate in a 24x7 on-call rota.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supporting complex enterprise ICT environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Linux administration.
• Experience with VMware or Nutanix virtualization and Docker or Kubernetes containerization.
• Experience administering SAN, NAS, and DAS storage, backup platforms, and related infrastructure.
• Experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, Git, or Perforce.
• Technical degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Microsoft, RHCE, VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto, ITIL/ITSM, AWS, or cloud certifications.
