Operations Technician (Data Center)

Location: On-site in Wood Dale, Illinois, United States; night shift

What you will do

• Manage visitor access, badge processing, access control enrollment, and site security activities.
• Process site access, shipping, and receiving cases in NetSuite, including package custody documentation.
• Monitor NetSuite queues and BMS/NMS alerts, dispatch customer requests, and create cases for critical alarms.
• Prepare customer maintenance and event notifications and track them through completion.
• Support service order installations, network circuit troubleshooting, cage and cabinet installations, and ladder rack and fiber tray work.
• Install and test copper and fiber cross-connects, provide remote hands support, resolve escalations, and maintain shift and facility records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in security operations, data center operations, and customer service.
• Knowledge of security system hardware and software, data center monitoring applications, help desk tools, and critical operations infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods, move throughout office, data center, and outdoor areas, perform physical movements, operate equipment, and occasionally lift or move up to 65 pounds.
