Technical Operations Officer

Location: Sterling, Virginia, United States; on-site work with extended travel to customer training facilities in and outside the Washington metropolitan area, including possible OCONUS travel.

Salary: $122,000–$253,000 per year, based on qualifications, experience, and expertise.

What you will do

• Deliver engaging, application-oriented training seminars for professional technical staff.
• Develop program processes, procedures, training curricula, and instructional aids.
• Oversee assigned courses, including curriculum development, instructor training, student assessment, and subject-matter compliance.
• Support site surveys by mapping routes, identifying obstacles, and verifying installation details.
• Instruct learners on installing, terminating, connecting, and testing fiber-optic cables, including physical planning and rack integration.
• Maintain program artifacts and records while providing feedback for curriculum updates and program improvement.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph updated within the last five years.
• More than 10 years of experience working with the customer in a classified environment.
• Experience managing equipment, data security, physical security, educator-certified skills, and technical operations.
• Experience with Training of Trainers and more than two years facilitating training and assessment courses.
• IT experience maintaining Windows and Linux workstations, networking, and communications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and written communication skills; willingness to spend extended periods at training facilities outside the Washington metropolitan area.

Nice to have

• More than three years of experience with customer-certified programs.
• Advanced degree in engineering or education, or equivalent experience.
