Senior Consultant (Functional Safety)

Location: Home-based in Canada, with some travel to customer sites and other locations.

What you will do

• Lead the development and review of functional safety work products for vehicle programs and automated systems.
• Develop safety argumentation and contribute to evidence-based safety cases covering system, hardware, and software concepts.
• Perform hazard and risk analyses and define functional, technical, hardware, and software safety concepts.
• Define and decompose safety requirements in alignment with architectures, safety mechanisms, diagnostic concepts, and architectural metrics.
• Lead FMEA, FMEDA, DFA, FTA, STPA, and related safety analyses for electronic hardware, power electronics, battery systems, and autonomous driving components.
• Lead client workshops, technical reviews, training sessions, gap analyses, program meetings, and business development activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a safety-related automotive functional safety role.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing electronic systems, hardware, and software with a strong focus on the safety development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of HARA, STPA, FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, and DFA safety analyses.
• Experience working with ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 standards.
• B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
