Director, Legislative Affairs (Defense): Leading congressional engagement and legislative strategies that advance KBR priorities across defense, intelligence, homeland security, space, and federal civilian markets with an accent on federal budgeting, authorization and appropriations, and bipartisan relationship-building. Focus on analyzing legislation and policy developments, translating budgetary impacts into business recommendations, and coordinating advocacy with senior leaders, government stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States

Salary: $209,000–$313,000 annually for the Virginia area.

What you will do

  • Lead congressional engagement and advocacy for hirify.global priorities across defense, intelligence, homeland security, space, and federal civilian markets.
  • Build and maintain bipartisan relationships with Members of Congress, congressional staff, and relevant committees.
  • Develop legislative engagement strategies aligned with business growth objectives and government relations goals.
  • Monitor and analyze legislation, authorizations, appropriations, budgets, and policy developments affecting hirify.global and its customers.
  • Partner with business leaders, program managers, and business development teams to connect congressional engagement with customer missions and programs.
  • Prepare briefings, correspondence, presentations, leadership visits, PAC activities, and compliant government relations initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, government, communications, business, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in legislative affairs, government relations, congressional affairs, public policy, or a related area.
  • Active Secret security clearance or higher is required.
  • Experience working with Congress on defense, intelligence, homeland security, federal civilian, space, NASA, NOAA, State Department, or related national security issues.
  • Experience supporting authorization and appropriations matters within the U.S. Congress.
  • Strong knowledge of congressional procedures, federal budgeting, stakeholder management, strategic communication, analysis, and ethical compliance.
