Government Affairs Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Cape Canaveral, Florida, or Long Beach, California, United States. Regular travel of up to 30% is required.

Salary: $110,000–$166,000 USD annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and maintain relationships with state, county, and city officials, economic development organizations, workforce organizations, industry associations, and Chambers of Commerce.
• Monitor and analyze state and local legislative, regulatory, and policy developments affecting company operations.
• Advocate for company priorities before state legislatures, regulatory agencies, and local governing bodies.
• Identify opportunities for tax incentives, grants, workforce development programs, and other economic development benefits.
• Coordinate with local governments on permitting, operational concerns, and community relations.
• Represent the company at conferences, public forums, stakeholder meetings, and related events in coordination with Communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, public administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative affairs, or advocacy, preferably focused on state and local government.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and policymakers.
• Strong understanding of state legislative and local government processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including policy materials, testimony, and advocacy documents.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Existing relationships with elected officials, agency leaders, or staff in California, Florida, or Mississippi.
• Experience in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, defense, technology, or transportation.
• Experience with ports, airports, spaceports, federal ranges, or other critical infrastructure operations.
