Systems Engineer - Design & Development - Hybrid

Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts, United States; fully onsite or hybrid/flex, with travel to the Pittsfield office once every 3 weeks required for hybrid arrangements. U.S. citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Lead requirements analysis and management, functional and performance analysis, system design, trade studies, integration, verification, validation, and interface definition.
• Drive MBSE and digital engineering strategy by developing and maintaining system architectures, models, and designs in Cameo/MagicDraw and DOORS.
• Analyze complex design weaknesses, make technical trade-off decisions, and support technical planning, cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses.
• Allocate system requirements, negotiate customer requirements, evaluate vendor and COTS products, and support program milestone reviews and gate decisions.
• Lead security evaluation, accreditation and certification activities, modeling and simulation, and the development and review of technical engineering products.
• Mentor lower-level engineers, support talent development, monitor relevant technology trends, and identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related science, engineering, or mathematics field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance are required.
• Experience leading complex systems engineering efforts across the full system development life cycle, preferably in a major defense or strategic weapons program.
• Strong proficiency with systems engineering, MBSE, digital engineering, requirements management, SysML, DoDAF, Cameo/MagicDraw, and DOORS.
• Background in software development or computing architecture, including distributed or cloud systems and virtual machines.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, project leadership, cost and schedule performance, and stakeholder management skills.
