Sustainability Intern (Clean Transportation)

What you will do

• Research emerging fuel types for medium- and heavy-duty transportation and prepare internal memos.
• Support data collection outreach to operators involved in Midwest Clean Ports projects.
• Research environmental conditions to inform project resiliency considerations.
• Develop community engagement strategies for Clean Ports initiatives.
• Support execution of Clean Ports projects in the Midwest and California’s San Joaquin Valley.
• Contribute to California statewide strategy development and broader regional office initiatives.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate or graduate student studying transportation planning, environmental planning, community or regional planning, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and balance multiple tasks.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Knowledge of zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, transportation electrification, charging infrastructure, or energy systems.
• Interest in regional environments and stakeholder engagement.
