Junior Sustainability Specialist (ESG)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid work with mobile work possible twice per week

What you will do

• Support the implementation of the sustainability strategy, with a focus on ESG data management, analysis, reporting, and climate initiatives.
• Collect, validate, monitor, and report ESG KPIs across departments while improving data quality, methodologies, controls, and reporting processes.
• Support Scope 3 greenhouse gas accounting, including data collection, emissions calculations, and performance tracking.
• Prepare sustainability disclosures, benchmark ESG performance, and contribute to audit documentation and limited assurance processes.
• Support climate targets, decarbonization initiatives, action plans, and the implementation of sustainability requirements across business divisions.
• Collaborate with site teams and internal stakeholders through guidance, training, workshops, and sustainability communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration with a sustainability focus, Energy & Resource Technology, or a related field.
• First experience in sustainability roles or sustainability consulting within industrial and international business environments.
• Knowledge of ESG reporting standards, frameworks, and regulations including TCFD, GRI, ESRS, GHG Protocol, SBTi, CDP, and EU Taxonomy.
• Understanding of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions methodologies, data collection, calculations, performance tracking, and action plans.
• Strong analytical, data-driven, proactive, and solution-oriented working style with effective cross-functional stakeholder communication.
• Excellent written English required.

• German language skills.
• Experience with Product Carbon Footprints.
