Climate Scientist (Carbon Removal)

Location: Remote-first with an office in London. Must be based in the UK or within 3 hours of GMT/BST timezone and willing to travel to London quarterly.

Salary: £50,000–£62,500 per annum.

What you will do

• Lead the vetting and development processes for specific Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) projects.
• Develop and refine CDR quality standards and vetting frameworks based on current climate science.
• Assess project viability and long-term credit delivery using commercial frameworks.
• Cultivate relationships with CDR project suppliers and provide market feedback.
• Support sales and marketing teams by contributing to climate thought leadership and buyer education.

Requirements

• MSc or higher in chemical engineering, environmental science, chemistry, or a BEng/BSc with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• In-depth expertise in biomass-based CDR pathways such as biochar or bioenergy.
• Previous experience in the climate and sustainability field (academic, consulting, commercial, government, or NGO).
• Must be based in the UK or within 3 hours of GMT/BST timezone.
• No UK visa sponsorship available.
• Excellent analytical skills and proficiency with Excel.

Nice to have

• Experience with LCA, carbon accounting, financial modelling, TEA, MRV plans, or environmental impact assessments.
