Associate Attorney (Employment Defense)

Location: Fresno, California; California-based role with remote, hybrid, or onsite options. Active California Bar License required.

Salary: $115,000–$160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Annual billable-hours bonus available.

What you will do

• Develop case strategies that address complex legal and factual issues and drive results.
• Independently manage court appearances, depositions, motion practice, discovery, and trials.
• Manage a full caseload from discovery through trial.
• Communicate professionally and consistently with clients.
• Build relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff while mentoring junior attorneys.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active California Bar License required.
• 3–7 years of litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation.
• 2+ years of employment defense experience strongly preferred.
• Prior insurance defense experience preferred.
• Experience independently managing a full caseload, familiarity with litigation timekeeping and billing systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
