Employment Counsel - Remote and Reduced Hours (Labor & Employment)

Location: Remote, but candidates must reside in Southern California and be licensed in California and the state of residence. The role includes in-person depositions, motions, mediations, trials, and an annual attorney retreat.

Salary: $165,000–$181,500 annually, adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors.

What you will do

• Defend employers in single- and multi-plaintiff employment litigation for major California clients.
• Develop case defense strategies and conduct legal research.
• Draft pleadings, discovery motions, and dispositive motions.
• Manage discovery-related activities and take or defend depositions.
• Argue motions and participate in mediations, trials, and other proceedings requiring in-person presence.

Requirements

• Must reside in Southern California.
• Must be actively licensed and in good standing to practice law in California and licensed in the state of residence.
• At least 2 years of relevant litigation experience in-house or at a law firm.
• Excellent analytical, legal writing, organizational, multitasking, and client-service skills.
• Strong self-motivation, accountability, responsiveness, and ability to work independently in a remote role.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, administrative professionals, and clients.
