Sr. Principal Technical Quality Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site at a North American design center in Austin or Cary, United States; the posting header also lists San Jose.

Annual salary: $154,000–$286,000 in California, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Participate in the global Silicon Solutions Group Quality Team and represent it to customers and partners.
• Define and maintain quality procedures for multiple semiconductor IP design organizations.
• Analyze design defects, perform root-cause analysis, and identify corrective actions.
• Improve quality and release-control processes through agentic AI systems.
• Generate, interpret, and communicate quality metrics to senior engineering management.
• Support post-mortem reviews, failure analysis reports, ISO certifications, and external foundry quality programs.

Requirements

• MSEE degree.
• 7+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience in analog or digital IC design or verification, or in semiconductor fabrication quality assurance/control.
• Working knowledge of analog or digital silicon design flows.
• Strong communication, problem analysis, teamwork, proactivity, and sense of responsibility.
• Quality-focused experience supporting design teams and process improvements.

Nice to have

• Analog IC design experience.
• Defect management and analysis using RCA, 5 Why, or 8D methods.
