CNC Machinist III-5 Axis-2nd Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at the manufacturing site in Briggs, Texas, approximately 25 minutes north of Cedar Park; 2nd shift required

What you will do

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC mills and turn-mill centers for complex aerospace components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and CAD models.
• Machine Inconel, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, and other high-performance alloys.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies for precision and efficiency.
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and related measurement tools.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to troubleshoot machining issues, improve programs, reduce cycle times, and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 8+ years of CNC machining experience, including hands-on 5-axis machining and independent machine setup.
• Mill/turn, DMG Mori, Okuma, or VTL experience.
• Strong blueprint-reading and GD&T interpretation skills, including the ability to hold tolerances of ±0.001 inch or better.
• Basic understanding of G-code and CNC controls such as Haas, Fanuc, or Siemens.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is preferred.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening and meet U.S. government ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Advanced 5-axis toolpaths, multi-surface machining, fixture design, and advanced workholding.
• Experience with Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software.
• CMM inspection, advanced metrology, AS9100 quality systems, or aerospace and defense manufacturing experience.
• High-mix, low-volume or prototype machining, lean manufacturing, and process improvement experience.
• Ability to mentor junior machinists or operators.
