Machinist - Horizontal CNC Lathes (DMG, Mazak, Doosan) 2nd Shift

Location: Summerville, South Carolina, United States. Onsite, 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. US citizenship is required, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.

Salary: $28.70–$41.49 per hour.

Manufactures, tests, and services Navy and nuclear steam turbines, steam valves, and aftermarket steam components in a dedicated machining, welding, assembly, and inspection facility.

What you will do

• Set up and operate DMG, Mazak, and Doosan horizontal CNC lathes.
• Perform precision machining to tolerances within 0.001 inch.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
• Load materials, set tooling, and adjust machine operations to maintain specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and collaborate with engineering and quality control.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience operating horizontal CNC lathes.
• Proficiency with DMG, Mazak, and/or Doosan controls, including Fanuc or Mazatrol.
• Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code, with basic programming and editing skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints and use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Experience in high-precision, low-volume production; familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards.
• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals are required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods is also required.
