Software Engineer (Backend JavaScript/TypeScript)

Salary: $178,000–$205,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and maintain shared backend frameworks, libraries, and internal tools used across engineering.
• Design reliable, observable, and high-performance systems, including an event-driven task queue, batch job framework, database ORM, and real-time event infrastructure.
• Own and evolve CI/CD systems to support fast, reliable, and safe delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand pain points, establish shared patterns, and drive adoption of new frameworks.
• Influence backend architecture and engineering-wide technical standards.
• Define ambiguous problems and deliver solutions to technically complex challenges.

Requirements

• Backend JavaScript/TypeScript engineering experience; the role is not focused on hirify.globalend development.
• Experience building frameworks, libraries, or developer-facing internal tools.
• Experience building distributed systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and performance.
• Strong software design fundamentals and experience delivering high-complexity projects.
• Clear technical communication, structured thinking, and the ability to explain trade-offs to engineering stakeholders.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and executing without a fully defined roadmap.

Nice to have

• Deep TypeScript performance optimization experience.
• Previous platform or enablement team experience at a product-led company.
