Developer Platform Engineer (TypeScript)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California, or New York, New York; office attendance is required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Salary: $213,000–$320,000 per year base salary.

What you will do

• Build and evolve Developer Platform capabilities across APIs, MCP tools, and integration infrastructure.
• Create platform experiences that help customers automate workflows, customize Notion, and connect external tools and data.
• Contribute to the performance, reliability, robustness, and scalability of Notion’s core product.
• Drive end-to-end execution from product conception and research through implementation and maintenance.
• Partner with engineering leaders and cross-functional teams to define product strategy and execute high-leverage technical investments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience shipping production software and owning features end-to-end.
• Fluency with TypeScript across backend and frontend development.
• Strong product instincts and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into focused technical approaches.
• Experience building developer tools such as APIs and SDKs.
• Experience driving teams toward shared goals while balancing business priorities and individual strengths.
• Curiosity about AI tools and willingness to use them to improve development and delivery.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI or agent tooling, evaluations, or LLM-driven product experiences.
