Engineering Manager, Developer Experience (CI/CD)

Location: New York, NY, United States

Salary: $182,000–$242,000 annual base salary, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead a team within the build, test, and deploy platform organization powering engineering CI/CD.
• Guide technical direction for CI pipelines, build systems, artifact management, release automation, and workflow optimization.
• Modernize software development workflows and drive adoption of internal platform capabilities.
• Maintain reliability, performance, security, and developer experience standards while tracking metrics such as CI reliability, build time, and artifact repository latency.
• Translate roadmap priorities into actionable plans, manage technical debt tradeoffs, and remove execution blockers.
• Support engineers through regular 1:1s, mentorship, career development, and collaboration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing engineers on platform, infrastructure, or internal developer teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience building or operating CI, build, artifact, or release platforms at scale.
• Understanding of SDLC practices, code review workflows, branching strategies, and release strategies such as trunk-based development.
• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, containerization, modern CI/build practices, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Ability to define metrics, communicate technical tradeoffs, and use automation and AI to improve engineering velocity and quality. Applicants must meet applicable U.S. export-control access requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
• Familiarity with DORA metrics, supply-chain security, and compliance.
• Experience managing engineers in a distributed environment.
