Director of Engineering, Deployment & Integrations (AI)

Location: Remote US; Los Angeles, CA; Remote US — NY; San Francisco

Salary: $275,000–$360,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Lead the engineering organization responsible for customer and partner deployments across public cloud, private cloud, on-premise, customer VPCs, and other controlled environments.
• Own enterprise integration strategy across applications, data platforms, storage, identity and access management, APIs, and AI/ML infrastructure.
• Build deployment automation, internal platforms, CI/CD, release management, configuration management, and observability for distributed customer environments.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, ML, Solutions Engineering, Sales, Security, and Infrastructure teams to translate customer requirements into scalable platform capabilities.
• Establish secure deployment patterns supporting data isolation, encryption, auditability, compliance, regulated environments, and public-sector customers.
• Build, recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing Deployment & Integrations Engineering organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, platform engineering, or distributed systems, including significant engineering leadership experience.
• Experience leading teams responsible for deploying complex software, AI/ML systems, or infrastructure into enterprise customer environments.
• Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, networking, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and production operations.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, automated deployment systems, multi-cloud environments, and customer-controlled infrastructure, including air-gapped or regulated environments.
• End-to-end ownership of software deployment lifecycles, including versioning, releases, rollbacks, upgrades, packaging, configuration, and post-deployment operations.
• Strong customer-facing leadership, technical judgment, and experience turning bespoke implementations into scalable, repeatable engineering systems.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying AI/ML or GPU-intensive workloads into customer environments.
• Experience with public-sector, defense, financial-services, or other highly regulated customers.
• Experience standardizing enterprise deployment motions or leading Solutions Engineering, Field Engineering, Deployment Engineering, or Professional Services Engineering organizations.
