Lead Electrical Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Own product architecture across the LV/MV switchgear, BBU, and busway lineup.
• Lead the gear design team across EE, ME, controls, and drafting disciplines.
• Run the certification strategy end-to-end, including NRTL relationships and test campaign sequencing.
• Set the ratings philosophy for short-circuit, withstand, and temperature-rise design standards.
• Make strategic make-vs-buy recommendations per product category based on cost, schedule, and risk.

Requirements

• 12+ years in switchgear and electrical equipment design, with leadership experience at an OEM.
• Proven experience taking gear through UL 891/1558 or IEC 61439 listing, including witness testing.
• Deep understanding of product architecture for LV/MV lineups and BBU integration.
• Ability to structure and scale a high-performing gear design team.
• Must be based in New York, Austin, San Francisco, or Seattle for this on-site role.

Nice to have

• Experience with BBU or energy storage integration into gear.
• Busway product experience or arc-resistant design expertise.
• Deep existing relationships with NRTL labs.
