Senior Quality Engineer (Payments Mobile & UI Automation)

Location: Hybrid work from offices in Bethesda, Maryland; Richardson, Texas; or Palo Alto, California.

Annual salary: $100,000–$215,000.

What you will do

• Design and execute outside-in black-box strategies for end-to-end customer, partner, and business payment flows.
• Build and maintain reliable automation suites for API, integration, UI, and end-to-end testing.
• Perform performance, load, and reliability testing with k6, JMeter, or LoadRunner.
• Partner with developers, product managers, and platform teams to integrate quality gates, test data, observability, and validation checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools for test design, test data generation, failure analysis, and automation productivity.
• Improve test coverage, automation reliability, release confidence, and engineering productivity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of quality engineering or software test engineering experience.
• Experience with risk-based test strategy, outside-in black-box testing, automation development, API and integration validation, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Ability to build and maintain automated suites using Playwright, Selenium, TestNG, Postman, REST Assured, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Ability to use SQL or PostgreSQL to validate test data, investigate defects, and verify transaction outcomes.
• Experience in payments and checkout, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Expertise in JMeter, LoadRunner, or k6.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and Docker or Kubernetes.
• Understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
• Experience in fast-paced cross-functional product, engineering, and platform environments.
