QA Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote; applicants must be based in the United States or Canada

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year, with possible additional bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for web, iOS, and Android applications.
• Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and own test flake triage, runtime, and reliability.
• Build coded API test coverage for the services powering the applications.
• Develop testing strategies for GPS simulation, GPX replay, device sensors, and location-based features.
• Use AI coding tools to accelerate test authoring, maintenance, and analysis.
• Perform targeted exploratory and regression testing, document defects, and collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software quality assurance experience, including 2+ years building test automation.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Maestro, Appium, XCUITest, or Espresso.
• Experience integrating automated tests with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Experience writing automated API tests in code beyond Postman collections.
• Strong exploratory testing, communication, independent problem-solving, and user-focused quality judgment.

Nice to have

• Experience testing GPS, mapping, or other location-based applications.
• Performance or load testing experience with k6, Gatling, Locust, or similar tools.
• Experience with device farms or cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Firebase Test Lab.
• Interest in fitness, running, cycling, or other endurance activities.
