QA Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote, with the role described as being performable in Colorado

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year, with possible bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for web, iOS, and Android applications.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines and manage flakiness, runtime, and reliability.
• Develop automated API test coverage using code-based tests.
• Test location-based functionality through GPS simulation, GPX replay, and device sensor mocking.
• Use AI coding tools to accelerate test authoring, maintenance, and analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams on requirements, edge cases, testability, defect tracking, and quality planning.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software quality assurance experience, including 2+ years building test automation.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Maestro, Appium, XCUITest, or Espresso.
• Experience integrating automated tests with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Experience writing automated API tests beyond Postman collections.
• Strong exploratory testing, communication, independent decision-making, and user-focused quality practices.

Nice to have

• Experience testing GPS, mapping, or other location-based applications.
• Performance or load testing experience with k6, Gatling, Locust, or similar tools.
• Experience with device farms or cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Firebase Test Lab.
• Interest in fitness, running, cycling, or endurance activities.
