Location: On-site in New York, NY; Austin, TX; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Compensation: $208,000 – $263,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Architect medium-voltage solid-state transformers (SST) for gigawatt-scale campuses.
• Define interfaces between SST and MVDC distribution systems, including protection and control boundaries.
• Develop a semiconductor and magnetics supply strategy to navigate market constraints.
• Lead power electronics, magnetics, and controls engineers from architecture to working hardware.
• Own system trade-offs and technical decisions to ensure prototypes are built on schedule.
• Build program plans and prototype roadmaps, including make-vs-partner recommendations.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in power conversion.
• Proven leadership of SST or MV converter programs at major research or industrial labs.
• Deep expertise in converter topology selection, semiconductor strategy, and MW-scale system trade-offs.
• Experience leading development teams from architecture through to working hardware.
• Strong knowledge of the SiC ecosystem and ability to define long-term semiconductor strategies.
• Ability to create and defend detailed 12-month program plans for engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Depth in medium-frequency transformer design.
• Experience with MVDC system integration.
• Established vendor and university research relationships.
• Exposure to certification processes for MV power conversion.
