Salary: $112,000–$150,000 annually; the role-specific range for Mission Engineer II is $115,000–$150,000, plus stock options.

hirify.global is a Series B startup developing mass-producible, inherently safe microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.

What you will do

  • Lead delivery of customer-facing programs, owning cost, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, and milestone execution.
  • Coordinate engineering collaboration, reviews, and stakeholder alignment across commercial, defense, and space missions.
  • Connect customer feedback with engineering design inputs through closed-loop requirements management.
  • Develop proposals, operational use cases, interface requirements, performance justifications, and new programs for DoD and DOE sponsors.
  • Conduct market, use-case, and CONOPS research while developing technical roadmaps for deployment readiness.
  • Contribute to system architecture and interface specifications, including logistics, facility interfaces, transportation, commissioning, and decommissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or applied science.
  • 3+ years of experience in complex, safety-critical, defense, or aerospace programs with accountability for cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Strong foundations in thermodynamics, thermofluids, energy systems, aerospace, engineering economics, and systems-level thinking.
  • Experience developing or integrating hardware in energy, automotive, nuclear, or aerospace environments.
  • Systems engineering proficiency, cross-disciplinary problem-solving ability, and strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Must meet U.S. government export-control requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or PhD in engineering.
  • Python proficiency for numerical or multiphysics work and familiarity with Git and CI/CD.
  • Government sponsor experience with DoD, DOE, NASA, USAF, or USSF, including proposal and contract wins.
  • PMP or another relevant project management certification.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance.
