Industrial Engineer - Lean Practitioner (Lean Manufacturing): Analyzing and improving manufacturing-line performance through ProModel discrete-event simulations, data analysis, and Lean process improvements with an accent on workflow optimization, capacity assessment, and supplier analysis. Focus on designing data-driven solutions, implementing change, and presenting operational insights to multifunctional and joint leadership teams.

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; onsite

Salary: $82,000–$129,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $102,000–$153,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Analyze manufacturing-line performance and identify inefficiencies using manufacturing data.
  • Run discrete-event simulations in ProModel and present data-driven findings.
  • Design and implement improvements involving floor layouts, resource optimization, production flow, visual management, and tiered management.
  • Collaborate with multifunctional teams to collect data, explain insights, and support implementation.
  • Assess capacity and capability for outsourced supplier programs globally and support schedule planning.
  • Communicate manufacturing-line findings to joint leadership teams to support volume awards, investment decisions, and program outcomes.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, continuous improvement, or a similar role.
  • Deep experience with discrete-event simulation; ProModel is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering methodologies.
  • Experience leading change implementation and communicating clearly with varied audiences.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance are required. Up to 15% travel is expected, including less than 5% international travel.

Nice to have

  • Six Sigma certification.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Visio.
  • Experience with Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis software.
  • Self-learning, inquisitiveness, collaboration, resilience, and determination.
