Staff Facilities Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing)

Salary: $109,470.40–$159,542.00 base salary per year

What you will do

• Lead the design, specification, and optimization of HVAC systems, including air handling units, chilled water, cooling towers, heating, exhaust, ventilation, chemical scrubbers, and building controls.
• Design and optimize domestic water, process water, cooling water, water treatment, pumps, distribution networks, compressed dry air, and vacuum utility systems.
• Lead mechanical engineering for capital improvement projects from concept through construction, commissioning, startup, and acceptance.
• Develop engineering calculations, equipment specifications, construction drawings, design standards, project scopes, budgets, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Support facility operations and maintenance by investigating failures, identifying root causes, improving reliability, and establishing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Provide mechanical engineering leadership, mentor technical staff, and support compliance, risk assessments, sustainability, and energy management initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or commercial facilities.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience designing HVAC systems for large or complex facilities.
• Experience designing water distribution, process water, and utility water systems.
• Proficiency in engineering calculations, specifications, and mechanical design practices.
• Experience managing engineering and construction projects, with strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting manufacturing or high-tech industrial facilities and central utility plants.
• Experience with building management systems and facility monitoring systems.
• LEED Accredited Professional certification.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical system modeling software.
• PMP certification or formal project management experience.
