Senior Field Application Scientist (Genomics)

Location: Remote US, with preferred locations on the East Coast. Must reside within one to two hours of a major airport and be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 base pay annually in the US, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Guide customer application development to unlock the potential of the technology platform.
• Train customers on processes, kits, instrumentation, and laboratory workflows.
• Lead troubleshooting, document and resolve customer issues, and escalate cases when needed.
• Partner with sales on technical guidance, pilot experiment design, and technology adoption.
• Develop and deliver product demonstrations and technical content with sales and marketing.
• Represent the company at customer sites, trade shows, and scientific conferences.

Requirements

• Degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
• BS with 8+ years, MS with 5+ years, or Ph.D. with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive laboratory experience across life science platforms, particularly next-generation sequencing.
• Hands-on knowledge of NGS library preparation, sample handling, quality control, and workflow optimization across diverse input types.
• Experience teaching, training, or mentoring peers or customers, with strong communication, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and reside within one to two hours of a major airport.
