Associate Director, Product Compliance (FinTech)

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY; Salt Lake City, UT; or San Francisco, CA, with on-site expectations of 2–3 days per week in a local office. Candidates outside these areas may be eligible for relocation assistance.

Salary: $176,000–$220,000 USD annually in the NYC/Bay Area market; $149,600–$187,000 USD annually in the Salt Lake City market. Compensation is adjusted by geographic pay zone outside the listed cities.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end compliance advisory reviews for product launches, product changes, marketing initiatives, and emerging regulatory issues.
• Apply consumer protection regulations across lending, payments, and fintech to product design, disclosures, fee structures, and customer journeys.
• Conduct pre-launch product risk assessments, identify gaps, and drive remediation with product and engineering owners.
• Operate and improve AI-assisted review systems, automated monitoring, and agent-based compliance workflows.
• Maintain standards libraries, templates, and precedents to make reviews faster, consistent, and reusable.
• Coordinate product and marketing approvals with bank partners and investigate compliance issues with product and operations teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product compliance, compliance advisory, or regulatory risk within fintech, consumer lending, payments, banking, or financial services.
• Deep working knowledge of consumer protection regulations for lending and payments, with the ability to translate requirements into defensible product guardrails.
• Hands-on experience owning complex reviews, documenting decisions precisely, and being accountable for outcomes independently.
• Experience partnering with product and engineering teams and influencing decisions through clarity and credibility.
• Daily use of AI tools and experience operating or implementing AI-enabled compliance tooling, automation, or agent-based workflows.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with on-site attendance 2–3 days per week in a New York, San Francisco, or Salt Lake City office.
