TL;DR
Technician, Facility Services, Low Voltage (Low Voltage Systems): Installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing security, fire alarm, CCTV, audio/visual, and network cabling systems at a Walmart facility with an accent on system reliability, safety, compliance, and technical troubleshooting. Focus on testing and upgrading low voltage infrastructure, resolving faults, documenting maintenance, and safely operating a commercial vehicle.

Location: Onsite at 8301 Rogers Ave, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72903, United States

Hourly wage: $29.00–$58.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

  • Install, configure, support, inspect, and maintain low voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/visual systems, and network cabling.
  • Run, terminate, label, and test cabling according to project requirements, technical specifications, and industry standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve system faults, outages, and performance issues; repair or replace damaged components.
  • Evaluate existing systems and perform upgrades to improve reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance records and prepare system performance reports.
  • Provide technical support and basic training to users while coordinating work with technicians, engineers, project managers, customers, and business partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • One year of experience in electrical work, material handling equipment, or a related technical trade, or two years of Walmart store experience.
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams and using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.
  • Valid commercial driving record meeting Walmart and regulatory requirements, successful DOT physical completion, and medical certification valid for at least one year.

Nice to have

  • CompTIA networking certification, such as Network+.
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications for Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems.
  • NICET Level 1 or 2 Fire Alarm Certification.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety certification or technical training in low voltage systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
