Substance Abuse Counselor (Behavioral Health)

Salary: $25.00 per hour plus bonus structure; pay varies depending on credentials.

What you will do

• Provide individual and group counseling for patients recovering from drug and alcohol disorders.
• Guide new and returning patients through intake and orientation.
• Develop, update, and maintain individualized treatment plans and accurate patient records.
• Assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs and connect them with community resources.
• Follow up on referrals and respond to crisis situations while completing required documentation.
• Maintain an inclusive, respectful, and compassionate care environment and comply with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• On-site presence in Clyde, North Carolina, USA is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Meet state-level requirements and be registered or willing to register with the NCASPPB.
• Knowledge of human behavior, substance abuse populations, treatment planning, and human social services.
• Ability to exercise judgment with confidential and sensitive issues and work effectively in stressful situations.

Nice to have

• Behavioral health experience.
• CADC, CADC-I, LCAS, or LCAS-A certification.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, health services, or a related field.
