Managing Director of New Ventures (AI Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid, based out of either New York City or San Francisco, USA

Salary: $240,000 annual base salary plus carry and benefits

What you will do

• Develop high-conviction investment theses and identify white space across healthcare, health technology, and healthcare services.
• Generate and validate differentiated, commercially viable concepts through conversations with clinicians, operators, payers, and potential customers.
• Source, attract, and evaluate exceptional early-stage founders across venture capital, healthcare, and startup networks.
• Lead co-ideation and diligence from thesis development through Investment Committee, resolving the questions that matter most for each investment.
• Act as the primary interface between portfolio founders and Redesign’s platform, providing strategic support across go-to-market, fundraising, domain expertise, and governance.
• Represent Redesign as a healthcare and AI thought leader while mobilizing venture, founder strategy, legal, finance, and technology teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred, with a record of high academic achievement.
• 10+ years of experience, including significant experience in venture capital, company building, or early-stage investing.
• Direct experience evaluating founders and making investment decisions from pre-seed through Series A is strongly preferred.
• Deep healthcare expertise and an established network across venture capital, healthcare operators, and startup ecosystems.
• Fluency in business model analysis, investment thesis development, and financial modeling.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership from thesis development through founder sourcing and investment decision-making.

• Experience building sophisticated AI-enabled systems and workflows for analytical and synthesis work.
