Water & Wastewater Field Engineer

Location: El Paso, Texas, United States. The role is designated onsite and operates between office and field environments.

What you will do

• Conduct field inspections of water distribution, wastewater collection, and utility infrastructure projects.
• Monitor construction activities and coordinate with contractors, consultants, operations personnel, and regulatory agencies.
• Investigate system failures, operational issues, customer complaints, and infrastructure deficiencies, then recommend corrective actions.
• Support planning, design review, commissioning, asset management, and capital improvement projects.
• Collect and analyze field data on system performance, asset condition, pressure, flow, and water quality.
• Prepare technical reports and inspection records while supporting emergency response and workplace safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience; the posting also identifies 4+ years of experience for the position.
• Experience with water distribution, wastewater collection, pump stations, treatment facilities, or utility construction is highly desirable.
• Ability to work in office and field environments, including exposure to weather, noise, hazards, and bodies of water.
• Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, and occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 35 lbs.
• Successful completion of applicable pre-employment substance screening and background checks.

Nice to have

• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
