Senior Construction Inspector

Location: Onsite in Lakeland, Kissimmee, Tampa, or Gainesville, Florida

What you will do

• Inspect, observe, document, and verify contractor work against project schedules, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Perform engineering inspection calculations, field measurements, material testing, and quantity verification for excavations, drainage, roadways, bridges, and structures.
• Maintain daily inspection reports covering work activities, labor, equipment, materials, and production rates.
• Prepare as-constructed sketches and support documentation for final estimate packages.
• Coordinate field activities and inspection phases with contractor superintendents, agency personnel, and administrative staff.
• Lead field meetings, delegate responsibilities, allocate resources, and train junior inspection staff.

Requirements

• At least a high school diploma or equivalent with four or more years of construction inspection experience, including two years in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection; alternatively, a Civil or Construction Engineering degree with one year of road and bridge CEI experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to earn any additional required certifications or qualifications within one year, where applicable.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, noise, hazards, inclement weather, and other demanding jobsite conditions, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 35 pounds.
• Availability for intermittent or extended nighttime work when project needs require it.
