Senior Systems Administrator

Location: On-site at San Francisco HQ, Houston, TX, or Moab, UT, with approximately 25% travel to other offices and project sites

Salary: $130,000–$200,000 base annually, plus equity; final compensation depends on experience, location, and other factors

What you will do

• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, centralized authentication, and SSO across corporate and field sites.
• Manage SharePoint permissions, architecture, governance, user access, device provisioning, and employee onboarding and offboarding with HR.
• Build hardware lifecycle management covering procurement, provisioning, tracking, and retirement across offices, pilot facilities, and field sites.
• Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks while improving monitoring, segmentation, and IT/OT boundaries.
• Establish backup and disaster recovery, security controls, vulnerability management, incident response, and change management processes.
• Coordinate managed service providers and consultants, resolve complex user and site issues, and develop help desk processes, documentation, SLAs, and staff training.

Requirements

• 5+ years of systems and network administration experience with end-to-end infrastructure ownership.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including centralized authentication and SSO configuration.
• Strong networking fundamentals covering VLANs, segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, routing, and switching, with enterprise hardware experience.
• Working proficiency in PowerShell or similar scripting for administration and automation.
• Experience managing organization-level software and SaaS licensing, renewals, entitlements, cost optimization, and vendor coordination.
• Experience building processes, systems, or tools from scratch and overseeing managed service providers or external consultants.

Nice to have

• Experience in industrial, mining, or OT-adjacent environments.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, or ISO 27001.
• Experience with Apple or Mac devices and Ubiquiti networking.
