IT Systems Engineer

Location: Alameda, California, United States; on-site work required. Business travel may be 0–10%.

Annual base salary: $120,000–$162,000.

What you will do

• Lead endpoint development and implementation activities and maintain end-user systems standardization and asset life-cycle strategies.
• Design, deploy, and manage Windows, Mac, iOS, and mobile-device environments, including hardware provisioning, software deployment, OS configuration, and MDM.
• Develop access policies in Active Directory and Entra ID, including Group Policy, conditional access, MFA, and RBAC.
• Resolve complex hardware, software, networking, and enterprise-integration issues through Tier 2/3 support.
• Automate software deployment and routine operations with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or AppleScript; document procedures and improve reliability.
• Manage the infrastructure lab, vendor relationships, acquisition integrations, and mentoring of IT support staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 10+ years of enterprise end-user support experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, RDP, Print Management, Windows, macOS, Office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, and anti-malware utilities.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, JumpCloud, or Kandji, including zero-touch deployment and compliance monitoring.
• Advanced scripting and automation skills with PowerShell or Python.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, prioritization, accuracy, and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness and ability to work on site in Alameda, California.

Nice to have

• Medical-device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated-industry experience.
• Jamf, Intune, Entra ID, or Azure administrator certification.
