RF Engineering Technician

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; travel to other test locations may be required, often on short notice.

Salary: $27.88–$44.23 per hour; $34.86–$52.16 per hour for specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area.

What you will do

• Support system test engineering for satellite antenna testing and related communication systems.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, documentation, cabling, hardware connectivity, and overall lab functionality.
• Set up RF test stations, over-the-air testing configurations, and mobile truck-based test systems.
• Debug and repair modems, replace equipment, and design or build custom hardware for lab requirements.
• Prepare, pack, ship, install, and operate equipment at test locations; travel up to 25%.
• Collaborate with engineers, customers, integrators, third parties, and field support personnel while preparing test plans and reports.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on integration experience with large, complex, networked communication systems.
• Experience resolving RF signal path issues and working with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Linux command line knowledge, TCP/IP networking experience or certification, and scripting experience.
• US citizenship is required due to Export Administration Regulations.
• Ability to gain restricted access to COMSEC equipment and travel up to 25% on short notice.

• Laboratory management experience.
• CMMC experience.
