Finance Operations Specialist (Vancouver-based, US Experience)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week in the Vancouver office; Vancouver-based

Salary: CAD 62,000–73,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Own the billing and accounts receivable lifecycle for US partner schools and help scale the Order-to-Cash process.
• Analyze aging reports and billing data to identify recurring issues, negative trends, and financial risks.
• Partner with US Account Managers to resolve billing hurdles and customer disputes through root-cause analysis.
• Audit workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-backed process improvements.
• Reconcile corporate credit cards and expenses, support accounts payable, and verify vendor invoices.
• Assist with educator payroll onboarding and enforce internal finance policies and controls.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with US billing and payroll, sales tax, or cross-border finance operations.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large datasets.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and large dataset management.
• Ability to explain complex financial issues to non-finance stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with 3 days per week in the Vancouver office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Xero or large-scale ERP systems.
• Experience with Looker, Tableau, or SQL.
