Staff Client Engineer (Okta/Workday)

Location: Seattle, Washington preferred; open to College Park, Maryland or remote within the United States. Travel: 10% domestic or international.

Salary: $126,887–$166,127 base salary annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise gold OS images and deployment configurations for macOS, Windows 10/11, and Ubuntu Linux.
• Architect zero-touch provisioning with Windows Autopilot, Apple Automated Device Enrollment, Apple Business Manager, and UEM/MDM platforms such as Jamf, Intune, and Kandji.
• Own the automated employee lifecycle pipeline connecting Workday and Okta, including onboarding, transfers, role changes, terminations, SaaS provisioning, and access revocation.
• Build service catalogs, intake forms, and conditional routing workflows using Jira Service Management and Okta Workflows.
• Serve as the Tier-3 escalation point for IAM, endpoint, imaging, and automated provisioning failures while documenting troubleshooting runbooks.
• Mentor junior administrators, helpdesk technicians, and contractor teams, and collaborate with IT provisioning teams, hardware vendors, and VARs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Client Systems Engineering, Endpoint Architecture, or IT Infrastructure Automation.
• Proven experience configuring and maintaining Workday-driven identity provisioning in Okta, including attribute mapping, lifecycle states, expression language, and workflows.
• Expertise configuring, securing, and imaging Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu Linux at enterprise scale.
• Deep familiarity with Windows Autopilot, Apple Business Manager, and modern zero-touch deployment frameworks.
• Experience with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet, plus scripting in Bash, PowerShell, or Python for API integrations, packaging, and OS configuration.
• Access to export-controlled technology may require U.S. Person status, an applicable license, or a confirmed license exception; certain government-contract work requires U.S. Persons.

Nice to have

• Okta Certified Consultant or Developer, Jamf Certified Admin, or Workday Extend/Integration certification.
• Experience with Postman, Workato, or Okta Workflows for API integrations.
