Cloud and WebApp Engineer (Linux)

Location: Hybrid role based in Arlington, Virginia; at least 1 day per week in the office and up to 10% travel required.

Salary: $72,000–$139,650 per year, with ranges varying by experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Manage Linux virtual desktop infrastructure and implement VDI patch-management compliance checks.
• Deploy and manage Linux virtual machines in VMware vCenter and Windows Subsystem for Linux.
• Assist with Red Hat Satellite infrastructure and manage Linux-based applications such as Jira, Confluence, Crowd, FlexNet, Teamwork Cloud, and Nagios.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server database infrastructure.
• Maintain application security components, including SSL certificates and Linux password management.
• Create and update Linux systems documentation while collaborating with IT, operations, and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of full-time professional experience.
• Strong Linux administration, patch management, and virtualized-environment skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, planning, independent-work, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work from the Arlington office at least 1 day per week and travel up to 10% as needed.

Nice to have

• Red Hat Satellite experience.
• Ansible experience.
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification or equivalent experience.
• Bash or Python scripting experience.
• SELinux and fapolicyd experience.
